Our Story

From Phone Calls to Platform

SuperSmalls didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a phone, a spreadsheet, and a group of mates who loved football.

Where It All Began

In 1999, a fantasy football league called FantasySmalls was born. The name stood for South Midlands and London League Soccer — where the original managers all came from.

Back then, there was no app, no website, no drag-and-drop lineup builder. Every week, managers would phone their team selections in to the commissioner — my dad — who'd painstakingly collate everything on a spreadsheet and email the results out to the group.

Going Online

As the dotcom era took off, the league got its first website. It started simple — HTML pages uploaded straight from Excel spreadsheets. But as my knowledge of web development grew, so did the platform. Over time, the manual uploads were replaced with a fully web-based system: live standings, automated scoring, online transfers, the lot.

Still Going Strong

The original FantasySmalls league is still running today, over 25 years later. Every August, the managers meet in person for their annual auction — many of them call it "the best night of the year". That kind of longevity doesn't come from a slick UI. It comes from a game that people genuinely love playing.

The Next Chapter

SuperSmalls is the evolution of everything we've learned from running FantasySmalls for over two decades. It takes the format that's kept a group of mates coming back year after year and makes it available to anyone who wants to run their own league.

Every feature in SuperSmalls exists because we needed it ourselves — proper auction tracking, configurable scoring, prize kitty management, season renewals. This isn't a platform built by people who think they know what fantasy football managers want. It's built by people who are fantasy football managers.

Built for Commissioners

If you've ever run a fantasy football league, you know the pain: chasing payments, tracking scores, updating spreadsheets, answering "when's the deadline?" for the hundredth time. SuperSmalls handles all of that so you can focus on the fun bit — the banter, the rivalries, and the bragging rights.

Start Your Own League

Built by someone who's been running a fantasy football league since 1999. We know what matters.
