Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about running and playing in a SuperSmalls league.

Getting Started

What is SuperSmalls?
SuperSmalls is a fantasy football platform for private leagues. A commissioner sets up the league, invites managers, and runs the show — auctions, weekly scoring, transfers, and prizes. Every league gets its own website at yourleague.supersmalls.site.
How do I create a league?
Register for an account, then follow the setup wizard: name your league, choose a plan, invite your managers, and lock the roster when everyone's in. Once all managers have paid, the league activates and you're off.
How many managers can a league have?
A league needs at least 2 managers (including the commissioner) to get started. There's no strict upper limit, but most leagues work best with 8–16 managers.
Can I be in more than one league?
Yes — you can join as many leagues as you like. Each league is completely separate with its own squad, scoring, and payments.

Billing & Payments

How does billing work?
The commissioner chooses a plan and optional add-ons, then locks the roster. At that point, every manager receives a payment request for their share of the league fee (plus prize kitty if enabled). Each manager pays individually via Stripe. The league activates once everyone has paid.
How much does it cost?
Plans start from £20/year base fee plus £2.50 per manager. The total is split across all managers, so the more people in your league, the cheaper it is per person. Check the pricing page for full details.
Is it a subscription?
No — it's a one-off annual payment per season. There's no rolling subscription or auto-renewal. At the end of the season, the commissioner decides whether to renew, and fresh payment requests go out to all managers.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are non-refundable once the league has been activated for the season. If a manager is removed before paying, their pending payment request is automatically cancelled.
Is my payment information secure?
All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified — the highest level of security in the payments industry.

Prize Kitty

What is the prize kitty?
The prize kitty is money collected from each manager to fund end-of-season prizes. The commissioner sets the amount per manager and how it's distributed (e.g. league winner, monthly awards, cup competitions).
What are the fee modes?
There are two fee modes. Added means the league fee is charged on top of the kitty — managers pay the fee plus their kitty contribution. Included means the league fee is deducted from the prize pool — managers only pay the kitty amount and running costs come out of the pot.

League Management

What does locking the roster do?
Locking the roster finalises the list of managers for the season and triggers payment requests. Once locked, no new managers can be added (unless the commissioner unlocks the roster, which cancels any pending payments).
Can I unlock the roster after locking it?
Yes, but only if no managers have paid yet. Unlocking cancels all pending payment requests. Once any payment has been made, the roster is locked for the season.
How do season renewals work?
At the end of a season, the commissioner clicks "Renew" from the billing page. This bumps the season year, unlocks the roster for any changes, and lets the commissioner update settings. Once the roster is re-locked, fresh payment requests go out and the league reactivates when everyone's paid.
Can managers name their own squads?
Yes — managers can pick a custom squad name. The commissioner locks squad names when everyone's happy, and they're set for the season.

Gameplay

How does the auction work?
Each league runs its own auction (usually in person). Every manager gets a budget to bid on Premier League players. SuperSmalls tracks the results — who bought who and for how much — and manages the budgets throughout the season.
How is scoring handled?
The commissioner (or a designated scorer) enters scores each gameweek. SuperSmalls calculates points based on the league's configured scoring rules, with position-specific modifiers for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers.
How do transfers work?
The commissioner opens transfer windows at set points during the season. Managers can bid on unowned players using their transfer budget. The commissioner approves or rejects bids, and successful transfers are reflected in squads immediately.
